Places to Visit: DeLaurenti

On the corner of bustling 1st Ave. and Pike At., right at the entrance of Pike Place Market in Seattle, sits DeLaurenti. The shop welcomes you in with a great assortment dedicated to whatever season it may be. In December, it’s mountains of panettone. The rest of the space has aisles of pasta, jarred sauces, oil, bread and crackers, jams, and much more. Walk up a few stairs and you’re in the wine shop.

When I first moved to Seattle, I remember discovering that wine shop upstairs. But I didn’t know how much DeLaurenti truly offered. From the counter, you can order from one of the area’s biggest selections of cheeses, meats, and even handmade pasta.

Since dining restrictions and stay-at-home warnings began, I’ve been looking to places like DeLaurenti for a different spin on takeout. They offer pre-made lunch combos with sandwiches, an assortment of snacks, and—my favorite—charcuterie and cheese sampler spreads. Scroll to see what I’ve picked up recently.

Cheese and meat boards aren’t only for evening snacking. Here’s inspiration to build a morning Brunch Board.

Shop DeLaurenti in person at Pike Place Market and online for pickup or delivery. At the market, they also feature a walk-up window perfect for grabbing a slice of pizza, cup of coffee, or a sweet.

Charcuterie & Cheese: Italy

Perfect for a picnic and easy to order ahead online, I got this Italian board and snacks to fuel up and head out to Suncadia for a day of hiking the trails.

This is a handpicked, freshly packed, on-the-go bag of all the best entertaining goods. For one or for many, this will go farther than you might think. With several Italian meats, cheeses, olives, and crackers, it was exactly what I wanted. I added a couple bags of chips, cookies, and drinks to round out the lunch. And yes, there were leftovers too.

The hardest choice is choosing from the spreads DeLaurenti has on the menu—Italy, France, Spain, Northwest, United States or Staff Pick.

Charcuterie Cone

I’ve been waiting a long, long time to get this one. Ever since I saw it on Instagram and found out it was in Seattle, my mind was set on it.

Sure, it’s extremely Instagrammable and unique. But I was amazed with how much they fit in that little paper cone. I got to choose from speck or mortadella for the meat and got three big pieces of cheese. Plus, there were olives and crunchy breadsticks.

This actually filled me up as a good lunch, and it was only $9 from DeLaurenti’s walk-up window.
